At Nicolson Associates, Inc. our first step is to do an in depth master evaluation of the airport. We look at how a visitor experiences the airport from a few miles away right up to their gate. Some key considerations include:
A proper consistent coordinated color scheme
A high contrast between lettering and the background to ensure a good readability experience.
Symbols to ensure international visitors are able to find their destination.
The proper use of arrows to help traffic flow.

Master Planning
We will complete an analysis of the existing conditions including issues, concern, new construction etc..
Wayfinding
We will determine how a visitor finds his/her way to their destination with all the signs and messages required to make that happen.
Design
The design process typically starts with design exploration resulting in the presentation of a few design concepts. We then make revisions based on your input and complete the design phase with documentation drawings. These drawings are suitable for bidding.
Fabrication
We often are asked to provide design services and the fabrication is bid to a number fo qualified sign companies. We will prepare bid documents and manage the project through completion. Or we can fabricate the project with our in-house forces. The design-build process is seamless from designer to fabricator.
